Bloor Homes is delighted to reveal that it has now completed the purchase of land on the Thame Road and Mill Lane junction in Chinnor.
The land was purchased from two medical charities, the Oxford Radcliffe Hospitals Charitable Fund and CORDA Preventing Heart Disease and Stroke, after it was bequeathed to them in the will of a local gentleman, Mr Reginald White, 26 years ago.
The site is set to be transformed by the family owned developer into a collection of 61 homes, including 24 affordable properties, after the planning application received the unanimous support of South Oxfordshire District Council’s Planning Committee in August 2016.
And the development is set to bring much more than quality homes to the community, delivering an investment of more than £830,000 to the local area.
Indeed, as part of the development, Bloor Homes will provide £714,000 towards a local Community Infrastructure Levy (CIL) which will help to support primary and secondary education provision, Fire & Rescue services, offsite sports and recreational facilities plus various other community facilities across the District.

As part of the planning agreement, Bloor Homes will be realigning Mill Lane to create a safer junction with Thame Road, a shopper’s car park of 15 spaces and open space. The developer will also be providing £40,000 towards offsite affordable housing, £10,370 to recycling services, £62,968 towards bus services, £1,000 for a replacement bus stop, £1,240 for Travel Plan monitoring and £647 for street naming.
