Thames Valley Police officers remain at the site of a house fire which occurred in Jasmine Crescent, Princes Risborough, at about 12.35am on Monday.
Sadly, it is believed that the occupant of the house, a man, died as a result of the fire.
Buckinghamshire Fire and Rescue Service have been working to make the site safe.
Following this work and a search of the property, human remains have been discovered.
The next of kin of the man who lived at the house have been informed, and our thoughts remain with them at this time.
Formal identification will be undertaken in due course.
The circumstances at this stage are not believed to be suspicious, however an investigation continues between ourselves and Buckinghamshire Fire and Rescue Service to identify the cause of the fire.
