GBBO’s Star Finalist is coming to Thame Food Festival

Thame Food Festival has some very talented chefs and bakers on our stage this year. Michelin starred and television stars showing us just how brilliant they are in the many demonstrations we have planned over the two days.

Over the next few months they will be highlighted individually but we thought it would be nice to start with our latest booking - a brand new member of our Thame Food Festival Family.

The very lovely and very brilliant Jane Beedle!

Finalist of The Great British Bake Off 2016.

Jane is a professional garden designer of 15 years, amateur baker and recent finalist on The Great British Bake Off.

Hailing from Beckenham, Jane swapped her gardening rake for her rolling pin and followed her family’s passion for baking into the famous GBBO tent.

After serving countless cakes, biscuit’s, fleur-de-lis mousses and a pie in the shape of the Tudor Rose, Jane made it to the final where she received the highly coveted Paul Hollywood handshake thanks to her delicious meringue crown.

Since Christmas 2016 she has been appearing regularly on ITV’s Lorraine show.

We are incredibly lucky to have Jane starring on our Baking Stage alongside so many other superstar Bakers on Sunday 1st October.

Lotte Duncan Patron and Director of Thame Food Festival said ‘All of us at TFFHQ love Great British Bake Off, 15 million people watching the final proved just how much the country loves the show - we feel incredibly lucky to have so many baking stars on our stage this year - and having the gorgeous Jane Beedle really is the icing, frosting and glitter on the cake! We couldn’t be happier.’

https://www.eventbrite.com/e/1994549125125?aff=oddtdtcreator   Spend a morning sketching the River Thame and discovering nature through art. No experience needed. Join River Thame Conservation Trust on Sunday, 16 August, from 10 am to 1 pm at The Old Fisherman in Shabbington (near Thame) to sketch the River Thame. We'll spend the morning looking closely at the river through drawing, painting and sketching. It's a chance to really get to know this stretch of the river, so it doesn't matter whether you paint every day or haven't picked up a crayon since primary school. Help and guidance will be available if you'd like it, and we'll finish by sharing our work together at 1 pm. You're welcome to stay afterwards and have lunch at the pub if you'd like…
