In March 2015, Thame Town Council, in partnership with Sharing Life Trust and Volunteer Link-Up, launched Thame Good Neighbour Scheme.
TGNS is a voluntary service providing help and support to the vulnerable, elder and isolated in Thame. Since our launch 2 years ago, we have received almost 300 requests for help, recruited 35 volunteers and assisted 90 residents in Thame.
As the scheme continues to grow in popularity, theyare always looking for more volunteers. The level of commitment is entirely up to you, as is the type of volunteering you'd like to do. Whilst a lot of their requests for help are for lifts to the hospital or doctors, our TGNS volunteers also help people with gardening, cleaning, household tasks or by simply popping over for a cup of tea!
