Thame Cricket Club is pleased to announce that they have reached an agreement for Gamindu Kanishka to be their Overseas Player and Coach this summer.
Gamindu is an experienced Sri Lankan professional who bats in the top order and bowls medium fast. He plays for the Saracens Sports Club in Columbo.
He celebrated joining Thame, and his 30th birthday, on Saturday with his 8th first-class 100!
As an overseas professional, he will be sponsored by the Club through the Tier 5 (Creative and Sporting) programme. The Club has recently received its Sponsor’s Licence, and Gamindu is currently applying for his Tier 5 Visa.
As well as successful stints in Australia and New Zealand, he has considerable experience playing in Premier League cricket in the UK. In 2015 for Fives and Heronians in the strong Essex League, he hit 836 runs at 55.73, together with 19 wickets at 23.95.
