With the annual September Street Fair making its return next week, Thame Town Council have accumulated all the information you need to know about whilst the fair is in town!
When is the fair open?
Thursday 17th Sept: 3:30pm-11pm
Friday 18th Sept: 12pm-11pm
Saturday 19th Sept: 12pm-11pm
What roads will be closed?
As usual, the town centre will be closed to vehicles from 4pm on Wednesday 16 September until midday on Sunday 20 September.
The following roads will be closed during this time: High Street (from Bell Lane roundabout to North Street roundabout), Cornmarket, Buttermarket and Upper High Street. View the road diversions on our website.
Where can I park?
The car parks at Southern Road (behind the former Co-Op) and Cattle Market (North Street) will remain open as usual. Additional parking will be available at Southern Road Recreation Ground from noon on Thursday, and 8am-11:30pm on Friday & Saturday.
Limited disabled parking will be available at North Street.
Vehicle Access Permit
If you are a resident or business with off-street parking within the Fair road closure (High Street, Upper High Street, Buttermarket and Cornmarket), you can apply for a vehicle access permit by contacting the Town Hall with your address and vehicle registration(s).
Bus Stops
All bus stops on the Upper High Street, High Street and North Street will be closed. All buses will be on diversion, please note the following closest town centre bus stops and bus route information:
- X20 (to Oxford) – The Thatch (Lower High Street) or Cricket Club (Aylesbury Road)
- 400 (to Oxford) – The Thatch (Lower High Street)
- X20 (to Aylesbury) – Thame Museum (Lower High Street)
- 121 (Haddenham / Thame circular) – The bus will miss all stops on East Street, Upper High Street, High Street and North Street.
- 40 (to High Wycombe) – The bus will miss all stops Upper High Street, and High Street.

Taxis
The taxi rank will relocate to North Street during the Fair.
Toilets
The Market House public toilets will be available until 10pm, and the Cattle Market public toilets will be available until 6pm.
Staying Safe
During the Fair, make sure to keep your belongings safe and always check how much you are being charged before paying by card. The Information Centre is the place to go for any lost property, to report a lost child or for any general enquiries.
A mobile ambulance will be located by Prezzo, Buttermarket/North Street. Defibrillators are located within the Town Centre.

Please be advised that the Running Track on Southern Road Recreation Ground will be closed from Wednesday 16 September to Sunday 20 September. This is to enable additional car parking during the Fair. We apologise for any inconvenience.
