Thame Women's Institute is inviting residents, community groups, councillors and elected representatives to support its Clean Rivers for People and Wildlife campaign.
The campaign forms part of the National Federation of Women's Institutes' Clean Rivers for People and Wildlife campaign, seeking healthier rivers through improved wastewater infrastructure, reduced pollution and stronger protection for wildlife and communities.
The River Thame is a treasured local river supporting wildlife, biodiversity, recreation and community wellbeing. Thame WI believes it deserves long-term protection for future generations.
Hazel Coey, Climate Ambassador for the Oxfordshire Federation of Women's Institutes, said:
“The River Thame is at the heart of our community. Healthy rivers support wildlife, biodiversity and people's wellbeing. Through this campaign we are encouraging long-term investment, greater transparency and practical action to help protect this valuable river for future generations.”
