Whilst litter picking Southern Road Recreation Ground, Thame Town Council Maintenance Team found a large amount of wetpour which had been dug out from the safety surface. This has resulted in a deep hole underneath one of the play equipment pieces.
The culprits then attempted to burn some pieces of wetpour in a nearby litter bin. The continued vandalism in our play areas and open spaces is not acceptable. Not only does this affect the users of these spaces, but it also adds as a pull on already-stretched council and police resources. With the summer holidays fast approaching, these spaces may be used more frequently making it even more vital that if you witness any acts of vandalism, to report it to the police on 101 immediately, as well as Thame Town Council on 01844 212833. Let’s work together to keep our play areas and open spaces enjoyable and safe for everyone.
