Removing a tree is not a decision the Town Council takes lightly. It is necessary as part of the approved planning permission for the Community & Youth Centre project, to remove the lime tree closest to the existing changing rooms, prior to building works starting.
The tree will be removed between Wednesday 8 – Friday 10 April.
The car park will need to be closed for safety reasons during felling. We apologise for any inconvenience.
The tree will be inspected for nesting birds before being removed.
In addition to new on-site landscaping, the plan is to plant at least two new trees in the autumn to offset the loss of the lime tree.
