Last week, the Mayor’s cadet, Sophie Coles, who is also an Army cadet in Thame, received a certificate from Detachment Commander, Mark Batchellier, for her work as the Mayor’s cadet.
Throughout the year, Sophie has attended several civic events including the Town Awards, the Blue Plaque unveiling, the Civic Service and Mayor’s charity events. She has also accompanied Thame’s Mayor, Cllr Andy Gilbert to Armed Forces events at RAF Benson and Bicester and The Lord Lieutenant’s Awards Ceremony, and will also attend the Oxfordshire Army Cadets Awards Ceremony in Abingdon with him in January.
