Thame Choirs Set to Bring Festive Cheer with ‘Christmas is Coming!’ Concert

18th December 2025

Music lovers in Thame are being invited to celebrate the festive season as Thame Chamber Choir and Thame Children’s Choir prepare to present a special Christmas concert this weekend.

The concert, titled Christmas is Coming!, will take place on Saturday 20 December 2025 at St Mary’s Church, Thame, under the direction of Duncan Aspden. The event promises an evening of candlelit carols and festive music, bringing together singers of all ages for a seasonal celebration.

There will be two performances on the day, catering for different audiences. A family matinee at 4.30pm offers an accessible introduction to Christmas music, while a full concert at 7.30pm will feature an extended programme in the atmospheric setting of St Mary’s.

Advance ticket prices for the matinee are £8, rising to £10 on the door, while evening concert tickets are £14 in advance or £17 on the door. Under-18s can attend both performances free of charge, making the event particularly welcoming for families.

Tickets are available in advance via the choir’s website or in person from The Book House on Thame High Street.

Organisers say the concert is a highlight of the local musical calendar and an opportunity for the community to come together and enjoy the sounds of the season in a traditional, candlelit setting.

More information and tickets can be found at www.thamechamberchoir.org.

We’re aiming to normalise the topic of death, raise acceptance, and help people make the most of their lives by breaking the taboo around mortality. It is not a grief support group or counselling session. These sessions have no agenda, objectives, or themes, allowing for organic, group-directed conversations about anything related to death, from end-of-life planning to fears and feelings, fostering open sharing in a respectful, confidential space.
