Chinnor to Host Green Living Fayre with Bike Exchange on 8th June

27th May 2025

Chinnor and Thame Friends of the Earth are set to host their highly anticipated Green Living Fayre on Sunday, 8th June 2025, from 11am to 4pm at Chinnor Village Hall, Church Road, Chinnor OX39 4PG.

The eco-conscious event will feature a bike exchange, allowing attendees to bring bikes for sale at 10:30am. Sellers must clearly mark bikes with their name, telephone number, and asking price. Sellers are advised to return at 1pm to check if their bike has been sold. Friends of the Earth will charge a £5 fee for each bike sold.

The fayre promises a day full of green living inspiration with engaging displays and activities focusing on sustainability and environmental awareness. Topics include bee keeping, Hedgehog Highways, Plastic Free Living, the Clean Air Campaign, Recycling, and Climate Change Action.

Visitors will also benefit from energy advice and a renewed refill shop, promoting low-waste lifestyles. Additionally, the fayre will host stalls selling crafts, gifts, plants, books, jewellery, and Fairtrade items.

A café on site will offer soup, rolls, cakes, and refreshing drinks, making it a perfect family day out. Children’s activities will also be available and are completely free.

Most notably, the event is free to enter, welcoming all members of the community to participate and learn more about sustainable living.

For further details, attendees can contact Maureen Dyroff from Chinnor & Thame Friends of the Earth at 07528030151 or via email at [email protected].

You are warmly invited to attend Death Cafe in Thame. at 7:30pm in room 1 of the Barns Centre, and held on the third Thursday of each month thereafter A Death Cafe is an informal gathering where people can discuss death over tea and cake. We’re aiming to normalise the topic of death, raise acceptance, and help people make the most of their lives by breaking the taboo around mortality. It is not a grief support group or counselling session. These sessions have no agenda, objectives, or themes, allowing for organic, group-directed conversations about anything related to death, from end-of-life planning to fears and feelings, fostering open sharing in a respectful, confidential space. Death Cafe is run on a not-for-profit basis but if you are able to make…
