En Garde! Thame Duellists Fencing Club Offers Free Taster Sessions This Summer

30th April 2025

Ever dreamed of sword fighting like a musketeer or mastering the art of fencing? This summer, Thame Duellists Fencing Club is offering the perfect opportunity to give the sport a try with free taster sessions on 1st May, open to children, teens, and adults.

The club is hosting two introductory sessions at their friendly training venue:

  • 6:00–7:00pm for children aged 7–11 (school years 3–6)
  • 7:00–8:15pm for 11–18 year olds and adults

No experience or equipment is needed — all fencing gear is provided.

Following the taster sessions, the club will launch a dedicated 8-week beginners course starting 15th May, running Thursday evenings during term time. Children in school years 3–6 can continue at 6:00–7:00pm, while over-11s and adults will train from 7:00–8:15pm.

“This is a unique chance to try a sport that combines physical skill, strategy, and fun,” said a club spokesperson. “We’re passionate about making fencing accessible to everyone, and our beginner-friendly sessions are the perfect starting point.”

Whether you're looking to take up a new hobby, improve fitness, or fulfill a sword-fighting fantasy, Thame Duellists Fencing Club invites you to join them this summer.
