We are seeing an increase in reports of dog mess being left on the streets and parks around the town.
Did you know that dog poo can be put in regular waste bins and not just dog bins?
You can report any details of dog fouling to South Oxfordshire District Council.
Dog waste should be picked up for a multitude of important reasons:
Hygiene and Public Health: Dog waste can contain harmful bacteria, parasites, and viruses that can be transmitted to other animals and humans.
Environmental Impact: Dog waste that is left on the ground can pollute the environment. It can wash into storm drains, leading to contamination of water sources. The waste is high in nitrogen, which can contribute to water and soil pollution.
Community Responsibility: Uncollected dog waste makes the town unsightly and unclean.
Legal Requirements: The law requires you to pick up after your pets, failure to follow this law can lead to fines and penalties.
So, please think twice when leaving your dog's mess in the street and help keep Thame clean, healthy and a more pleasant town for everyone.
