The Thame and District Twinning Association is inviting local residents to get involved in an exciting cultural exchange with their twin town, Montesson, located just outside Paris. For just £10 a year, members can join a variety of events and activities that strengthen the bond between the two communities.
One of the major highlights for 2025 is a trip to Montesson, set to take place from September 19th to 21st. The weekend promises a rich cultural experience including:
- Travel by coach (costing £170 per person, reduced to £140 if 25 people book),
- Two nights' accommodation with local host families,
- A day trip to a picturesque French location complete with a picnic,
- And a lively party at the Montesson Town Hall on Saturday night.
The coach will depart Thame early Friday morning and return Sunday afternoon. The ferry crossing is included in the overall cost, and participants are asked to pay a £50 deposit by May 16th to secure their spot. The deposit is non-refundable unless the trip is cancelled due to low registration numbers.
Locals may also have noticed the ‘Montesson Square’ in Thame – a visible symbol of the twinning partnership. The Association hopes that by encouraging more involvement, both towns will continue to foster meaningful international friendships.
Other community events on the 2025 calendar include the beloved Taste of Thame and the Thame Carnival, where visitors can meet people from Montesson right in their hometown.

The event is supported by Hiscox and 21st Century Thame.
