'Help to Buy' Roadshow

Are you starting to think about how you’re going to buy your own home? Or perhaps it’s been on your mind for a while now.

Help to Buy South have got lots of information on how you can take your first step on the property ladder, or move up or down it! On Saturday 22 October, 'Help to Buy South' are holding a roadshow, where you can find out about the different options available and receive free financial advice. The event will be held all day at the Kassam stadium.

As well as Cllr Austin (the Chair of Thame's Neighbourhood Plan Continuity Committee) promoting the free Help to Buy Homes Show, he is also keen to share another scheme as widely as possible that will help when buying in Thame over the next few years.

There are several large housing development sites due to be built in Thame.  As part of the deal with the developers opportunities will arise for people who would otherwise struggle to fund a full mortgage to buy a home through shared ownership.  This is where the householder can part-buy and part-rent their home, but with the option of buying more of it over time until they own it outright.

In order to be considered for these homes, an applicant has to be registered with South Oxfordshire District Council.  It is they who administer the initial part of the scheme.  It is hoped that by encouraging people to register early they will be in the best position for when the qualifying houses are built.

Should you have any questions please do not hesitate in contacting either Graeme Markland (Neighbourhood Plan Continuity Officer) or Councillor Austin using the details below:
