On Thursday 6 February, Thame residents will have the opportunity to vote in a referendum for the adoption of the the town's second Neighbourhood Plan 2 (TNP2).
TNP2 began development in 2021. It builds on its predecessor (much of which is now out of date) by focusing not only on guiding development in new areas but also guiding changes within established parts of the town, such as the retention of parking spaces in the Town Centre, proposals for a budget supermarket in the Town Centre, a new community centre, and new public parkland and accessible spaces.
Over the coming days, Thame households will receive a flyer with responses to some of the most frequently asked questions we have received these past few weeks since South Oxfordshire District Council (SODC) announced the date for the referendum.

Making an Informed Decision
Over the past week, the Information Centre at the Town Hall has seen a steady stream of people dropping in to review the Neighbourhood Plan folder. The official documents are also available to view at the Leisure Centre in Thame. The Centre on Oxford Road (OX9 2BB) is open Monday to Friday 6am to 10pm, and on weekends 7am to 5pm.
Voting on Thursday 6 February
Polling stations will be open on Thursday from 7am until 10pm. Residents are reminded to:
- Check your polling card for your designated polling station.
(N.B. SODC has advised that residents originally asked to vote at the Thame Snooker Club must now vote at Chinnor Rugby Club, Rectory Pavilion, Kingsey Rd OX9 3JL)
- Take photographic ID
