Chinnor Rugby set for Massive Celebration of Promotion to the Championship

22nd April 2024

Chinnor Rugby are poised to celebrate becoming National One Champions and promotion to the England Rugby Championship with a massive Family Sunday Fun Day in Thame this Sunday 28th April.

Starting at 10.00 am when supporters can meet the team, the newly crowned Champions of National One, Men’s 1st Team will leave Chinnor Rugby Club at 11.00am in an open top bus. Travelling round places which are significant parts of Chinnor RFC’s history to meet supporters - and maybe share a pint.

Stopping first at the Bird in Hand, Chinnor, the pub where the club was started in December 1963 and then on to the Crown in Syddenham. Moving on to Towersey, the first clubhouse before a triumphant parade through Thame to meet Thame Town Council in the High Street. Returning to the club at around 12.30.

At 2.00pm the Kites kick off their women's match . A game they need to win to secure next season’s place in NC1 – come and cheer them on.

Minis and juniors can grab a selfie with their favourite player and the National One Trophy

They’ll be a fun fair, inflatable assault course and Pitch-side food including pulled pork baps so plenty to keep you and the little players entertained.

Swifty will be in action on the music so they’ll no doubt be some dancing pitch-side and hopefully some Chinnor tries!

You are warmly invited to attend Death Cafe in Thame. at 7:30pm in room 1 of the Barns Centre, and held on the third Thursday of each month thereafter A Death Cafe is an informal gathering where people can discuss death over tea and cake. We’re aiming to normalise the topic of death, raise acceptance, and help people make the most of their lives by breaking the taboo around mortality. It is not a grief support group or counselling session. These sessions have no agenda, objectives, or themes, allowing for organic, group-directed conversations about anything related to death, from end-of-life planning to fears and feelings, fostering open sharing in a respectful, confidential space. Death Cafe is run on a not-for-profit basis but if you are able to make…
