A40 Tetsworth embankment repair work

Road users are being alerted to work planned to start on 22 June on the A40 at Tetsworth.

Oxfordshire County Council is investing £2.1m in repairing an embankment and resurfacing the road, helping to ensure that the route is in good shape for the future.

The work includes widening and stabilising the highway embankment, carriageway reconstruction, drainage improvements, kerbing and footway reconstruction, hedging and fencing. This is expected to last for up to 25 weeks, subject to any bad weather or unforeseen circumstances arising during construction.

For safety reasons, the A40 at this location will be closed for around 25 weeks and a signed diversion via Thame will be provided.

Access for pedestrians and dismounted cyclists will be maintained. Staff will be positioned at the start of the closure to ensure the safety of the public and workforce.

The Tetsworth project is part of this year’s £32m programme of work to repair and maintain Oxfordshire’s roads.
