Thame climb to 6th ☑️

This New Year's Day special would see a battle between two Oxfordshire sides. Thame United entered this fixture 7th in the league and unbeaten in the last 7 matches. Kidlington had won 5 of their last 7 matches and sat 14th in the league table.

The pre match build up was full of excitement due to possible landmarks being broken with Dan West on 149 goals and Lynton Goss on 99 goals for Thame. The home side also recently captured the signing of Carl Davies from Bracknell Town to add another spark in the team.

It was a scrappy first half but Thame's midfield lead by Sturgess, came out on top. It was the captain Sturgess who fired the ball into the top of the net in the 31st minute.

Then the moment happened when a cross by Blake finds West for a tap in for goal number 150!

Blake's efforts were rewarded with the third and final goal of the afternoon when he drilled low and hard past Lawrence between the posts.

This was a great team effort and Thame climb to 6th in the table. There was a great display by debutant Carl Davies in the heart of the defence.
