Christmas Bin Collections
Bin collection dates will change over the festive period. Use the table below to find out what date you need to put your bins out, if your bins are usually collected on Mondays. Please visit South Oxfordshire’s website for the full list of Christmas bin collection dates. You can also download their ‘Binzone‘ smartphone app.

‘Can I recycle that?’
South Oxfordshire District Council have put together a handy festive guide for which bins to put your rubbish, food and recycling waste in. Click on the image below to view it. You’ll probably have extra waste over Christmas and most of this can be recycled. Remember all bins must be fully closed with their lids shut. You can put out extra recycling in a cardboard box or clear sack (available to purchase from the Information Centre) next to your green wheelie bin. Extra food waste can be put into a thin plastic or compostable bag and left on top of your food bin.
Christmas tree recycling
If you’re a garden waste customer, your real Christmas tree will be collected from you during the week commencing 11 January – simply put it out next to your brown bin. If it is over 6ft, please cut it up and don’t put it inside the bin as this makes it tricky for the crews to get it out. Alternatively, you can recycle your Christmas tree at the drop-off point at the Cattlemarket car park, North Street, Thame until Saturday 9 January 2021. Trees left after this date and artificial trees will not be collected.
Thame Market
Thame market traders would like to remind their customers that there will be NO market on Tuesday 29 December 2020 and it will be returning on Tuesday 5 January 2021. The monthly farmers’ market returns on Tuesday 12 January 2021.The market traders would like to wish everyone a very Merry Christmas and Happy New Year.
