Upcoming Road Closures

Please note the following road closures in Thame.

Various - Thame Carnival (15 June)
To allow the annual carnival parade to take place, a rolling road closure will be in place from 11:50am to 1pm on the roads below. The carnival organisers have asked that any vehicles are moved away from the route in good time before the parade and please be patient and respectful towards the volunteer marshals who will be protecting all the parade participants and spectators by upholding the road closure.

  • Station Yard (parade starting point for vehicles)
  • Thame Park Road from its junction with Jane Morbey Road
  • Park Street
  • East Street
  • Upper High Street
  • Cornmarket
  • High Street from its junction with Southern Road
  • Moreton Lane into Southern Road to the High Street

Thame Park Road (17 & 18 June)
A temporary road closure between 7am and 5pm on the dates above for resurfacing works by M V Kelly Ltd.

Thame Eastern Bypass and Oxford Road - Thame 10k Race (30 June)
The Thame Eastern Bypass will be closed from 9:30am to 10:30am between the Kingsey Road roundabout and Chinnor Road.
Oxford Road will be closed from 9:25am to 9:45am between the High Street and A418 roundabout.

Various - Thame Town Music Festival (13 July)
Between 9:30am and midnight on Saturday 13 July vehicles will have restricted access to the High Street, Buttermarket and Cornmarket. Vehicles will not be allowed to park in the road or on the pavements of these roads. Anyone parking will run the risk of causing an offence by obstruction and cars will be removed. Access will only be permitted to residents and businesses with private parking.

Croft Road (23 - 26 July)
A temporary road closure on the dates above for resurfacing works. Work will be carried out between 8am and 5pm, and the anticipated completion date is 26 July.

Various - Summer Street Market (26 - 28 July)
Road closure on Buttermarket and the cobbled area around the Town Hall from 7am on Friday 26 July to 7:30pm on Sunday 28 July. Details of this new town event will follow soon.

Haddenham Park Care Home: Stroke UK Meet & Move
Join the Stroke UK Meet & Move monthly support group for stroke survivors and their caregivers. Hosted as part of the Stroke Association support network, each session offers helpful information, resources, and a welcoming community. Stroke survivors can take part in a 45–60 minute exercise class led by a qualified instructor, while caregivers can enjoy coffee and social time in the piano lounge and connect with others. When: Last Tuesday of every month, 11:00am–12:00pm (starting 28 July 2026)Where: Haddenham Park Care Home & Apartments, Tibbs Road, Haddenham, Buckinghamshire, HP17 8FH A supportive space to stay active, share experiences, and meet others affected by stroke.

Join this free monthly support group for people living with Parkinson's and their caregivers. Held on the first Monday of every month from 11:00am–12:00pm, the session includes a gentle, physiotherapist-led exercise class for participants with Parkinson's, while caregivers can enjoy coffee, cake and the opportunity to connect with others in a relaxed, supportive environment.
