Oxford’s traffic filter trial starts on Monday 28 September, replacing the temporary congestion charge. From this date, the temporary £5 congestion charge will no longer be available.
You’ll still be able to drive to every part of Oxford, including travelling to hospitals. Some journeys may need a bit more planning, and if your car does not have a permit you may need to use a different route.
There may be other travel options that work for you, such as bus, train, park and ride, cycling, walking or lift-sharing. Even changing one or two regular trips a week can help reduce congestion and make travel easier across the city.
Permits are available for several groups, including Oxfordshire residents, Blue Badge holders, unpaid carers, community health and care workers and mobile traders.
