The Thatch re-opens on Monday 12th April

The Thatch in Thame is ready and waiting to-open its doors again on Monday 12th April, the day it will once more be able to welcome guests back to its gorgeous garden and ensure they have a fantastic time.

As well as offering a warm welcome to everyone, the pub will be back with a delicious new menu for spring, with an exciting choice of seasonal dishes for lunch and dinner and everything in between.  There will also be new arrivals on the drinks list including cocktails, gins and soft drinks, with plenty of options to toast being back at the pub.

The entire team at The Thatch has thrown themselves into getting the pub ship-shape for opening after the long months of lockdown and is looking forward to having groups of up to six people from any number of households, or groups of two households, in its terraced garden behind the pub.

This is bedecked with a spacious stretch tent strung with lights and dotted with heaters to keep things toasty when it gets chilly. There are comfy rattan armchairs to sink into, fleecy throws to snuggle under and candles to set the scene. To the front of the pub, meanwhile, there will be four new bar height tables and chairs where you can perch and savour a pint of local ale or sip on a refreshing sloe or elderflower spritz as you watch the world go by.

Fresh from Head Chef James Durrant's kitchen will be some mouth-watering new dishes. Enjoy mains of roast Cornish lamb rump, minted peas, courgette and broad beans served with Delmonico potatoes or miso-glazed cod with black rice, choy sum, lime, chilli and coriander. Meat-free options include warm Moroccan salad, harissa-roast cauliflower, chickpeas and giant cous cous laced with pomegranate and almonds.  There will also be a vegetarian special of the day.

For sharing over a drink, The Thatch does a fabulous selection of deli plates, with tempting options including Hoi Sin Duck Spring Rolls or Smoked Haddock Arancini, perfect over an apéritif. All the pub's cheeses are British, from Somerset Camembert to Rutland Red, and there's British beef, vegetables and fruit, and free-range pork and chicken on the menu too.

As well as being able to order food and drink from one of the team, you can also get your glass topped up and have something tasty to eat by ordering on your mobile. Look out for the cards in the pub which explain it all.

The Thatch manager Jon Gotch and his team will be on hand to welcome guests back to the pub and ensure everyone is safe when they visit.  He says: "We have been working really hard to be ready for the big day when we can finally open our doors again and we really can't wait! We've all missed being able to do what we love the most - looking after our guests and serving them plenty of the good stuff.

"The changes we have made at the pub mean we'll be able to do just that and do it really well, whatever the weather. We've created the ideal setting for people to celebrate getting back together again, whether it's meeting their friends for a drink or having coffee or cocktails, having Sunday lunch at the pub or making a Saturday night out special.  It will be fantastic to have everyone back at the pub again."

The Thatch is now taking bookings outdoors from Monday 12th April, for groups of up to six, or up to two households.  Please go to http://www.thethatchthame.co.uk/ to book.  The pub will be open from Monday to Saturday from 12pm to 10pm and on Sunday from 12pm to 9pm. Food is served from Monday to Saturday from 12pm to 8.45pm and on Sunday from 12pm to 8pm.

Starters, mains, sides and puds are all masterfully prepared and ready for you to finish at home. Just the ticket if you're celebrating, in need of a break from cooking, looking for a gift or simply want to have our great food at home. https://www.makinglifepeachy.com/peach-at-home/
