Residents of Thame are encouraged to save the date and save their repairs as the Repair Cafe returns on 22nd February from 2 PM to 4 PM. Taking place at the Racquets Fitness Centre, located behind the Cattle Market, the event aims to help the community fix broken household items rather than throwing them away.
With the slogan Toss it? No way! The Repair Cafe movement promotes sustainability by encouraging people to repair, reuse, and reduce waste. Volunteers with a range of repair skills will be on hand to help fix various items, including small electronics, clothing, and household goods.
Supported by 21st Century Thame, the event aligns with the town commitment to reducing landfill waste and fostering a more sustainable lifestyle.
Residents are encouraged to bring in their broken or damaged items and work alongside skilled repairers to give them a new lease on life. This initiative not only saves money but also strengthens the community by bringing people together to share knowledge and skills.
