Look about in Thame’s town centre and you’ll find a wealth of buildings side by side, all with a story to tell. From Medieval to Tudor, from Georgian to Victorian and through to the 20th and 21st centuries, why not find a pencil and paper and start sketching one today?
Then, how about turning your sketches into artwork in any style, and taking part in an Art Competition for all ages - 'Look About?' The focus is on chimneys, windows, doors and/or walls, so there are plenty of fantastic examples in Thame to find and adapt.
Images can be in any 2D medium (maximum size A3) and there are three age-groups (9-and-under, 10-15 and 16 and over). Final entries can be handed in by Saturday 11 June to Thame Town Hall Information Centre, Thame Museum, or Thame Library (entry-stickers can be downloaded at https://www.thamemuseum.org/wp-content/uploads/2022/05/Thame-through-Time-art-comp-entry-sticker.pdf).
There’ll be an exhibition of entries at Thame Museum between 15 - 20 June and an Awards Event at 11.15am on Sunday 19 June at Thame Town Hall (with a range of prizes from local businesses) as part of Thame History Fair.
