Thame Leisure Centre Hosts Family Open Weekender Packed with Fun and Fitness

10th November 2025

Thame Leisure Centre is inviting residents to get active and have fun at its Big Open Weekender, taking place on Saturday 22 and Sunday 23 November.

The event promises a packed schedule of activities designed to keep the whole family entertained and moving. Whether you’re a first-time visitor or a regular in the local fitness community, the team says the weekend is the perfect chance to explore everything the centre has to offer.

“Our leisure centres are all about promoting health, fitness, and well-being for individuals and families of all ages and abilities,” said the organisers.

Visitors can look forward to a variety of challenges and competitions, with some great prizes up for grabs:

  • Adult Rowing Competition: Participants can test their speed by rowing 500m as fast as possible.
    • Centre Prize: A fitness bundle including an ab wheel, resistance band, and skipping rope.
    • Partnership Prize: A £50 Love to Shop voucher.
  • Children’s Colouring Competition: Young visitors can get creative with Rocky the Rhino for a chance to win.
    • Centre Prize: Free swim for two adults and two children.

You are warmly invited to attend Death Cafe in Thame. at 7:30pm in room 1 of the Barns Centre, and held on the third Thursday of each month thereafter A Death Cafe is an informal gathering where people can discuss death over tea and cake.
