During October the foodbank provided 48 food parcels. These provided for 60 adults and 57 children.
The food parcels provided include all the non-perishable items listed on the shopping list that you can see on their website https://www.sharinglifetrust.org/foodbank and on the Foodbank app. They also include fresh fruit, vegetables and bakery items when these are available. These come from a regular Fareshare collection at Waitrose which volunteers help with on most days of the week. All bakery items are frozen on the day of receiving them. The food parcels aim to keep a household going with enough for meals for between 5 and 7 days.
The Community Larder https://www.sharinglifetrust.org/community-larder has continued to grow at Christchurch and there are now 60 members. It is open to everyone and is not means tested. All the food is wholesale surplus from supermarkets, provided by SOFEA a charity based in Didcot.
