19th May 2026
Food lovers are set to descend on Thame this weekend as the annual Taste of Thame returns on Saturday 23 May for a day dedicated to local produce, artisan makers and community spirit.
The free event, taking place across Thame town centre from 10am to 4pm, will feature food-related workshops, tastings, demonstrations and opportunities to meet independent food and drink producers from Thame and the surrounding area. Visitors will also be able to explore a digital trail map highlighting participating venues and producers throughout the town.
At the heart of the festival is the popular Buttermarket Banquet, where visitors can sit together and enjoy food from local businesses in a relaxed communal setting. Organisers say the event is designed to celebrate the town’s independent food scene while encouraging residents and visitors to discover new flavours and hidden gems.
According to organisers, Taste of Thame focuses heavily on supporting local businesses and producers, with priority given to food and drink makers based within five miles of Thame. The festival also aims to remain family-friendly, community-focused and free to attend.
A raffle will also take place during the event, with proceeds supporting the Thame Food Bank, operated by SharingLife Trust. Festival organisers are encouraging attendees to take part for the chance to win food-themed prizes and experiences while helping local residents in need.
In addition to the main festival attractions, special events and workshops are expected across participating venues. One featured event includes recipe demonstrations and a book launch at Thame Library hosted by local farmers from Bucksum Farm.
Organisers have described the festival as an opportunity to “discover sensational flavours, hidden gems, and new favourites” while showcasing the best of Thame’s independent food and drink community.
