Last night at approximately 8:30 PM, officers from the local Taskforce responded to a report of suspected hare coursing in the Sydenham area, near Chinnor.
Upon arrival, police located a vehicle parked at the entrance to a field. A subsequent search of the vehicle revealed items typically associated with poaching activities. The vehicle was promptly seized and is now undergoing forensic examination.
In the course of the investigation, two males accompanied by dogs were seen fleeing the scene on foot, heading across fields in the direction of Thame. While the individuals were not apprehended, officers successfully captured one of the dogs. The seized dog will now be rehomed.
Authorities are appealing for witnesses who may have seen any suspicious activity in the area to come forward. Anyone with information is urged to contact the police on 101, quoting incident number 1768 of January 8.
