South Oxfordshire District Council is developing a new Local Plan that will shape the future of our district. The latest version of this Emerging Plan has been published on SODC's website and on Thursday 20 December District Councillors voted to approve the draft Local Plan for public consultation. The plan will be published on 7 January for 6 weeks and formal representations will be invited ahead of the plan being submitted to the government by the end of March.
The emerging Local Plan and its supporting studies set out SODC's vision for South Oxfordshire up to the year 2034. Together they identify where they think housing, retail and employment land should be located as well as the infrastructure required to support this growth, such as new roads, schools, health services and sewerage.
Crucial to Thame, only 1.6 hectares of employment land has been identified for Thame, and yet are on record as stating that 98% of our industrial units are full. You may wish to make your views known as part of the consultation. You can find out more directly here.
