NCS - are you sorted for summer 2019?

If you're aged 15-17 and live in Oxfordshire then you are eligible for the unforgettable National Citizen Service programme!

The National Citizen Service (NCS) is a programme that helps you build skills for work and life, take on new challenges, meet new friends and have fun.

The programme is available to young people aged 15-17. It aims to help young people to connect with their local community, build skills and confidence, and expand their horizons with activities and projects plus, it looks great on your CV!

What is included in the cost?

  • An outdoor residential at an activity centre in an idyllic location out of the county, with travel and all activities included.
  • A discovery 5 day residential at Hill End Centre near Oxford.
  • The opportunity to make a real difference in the community by designing and delivering a social action project
  • Graduation ceremony at Oxford Brookes University and a certificate of achievement signed by the prime minister

Summer Experience Dates

Each experience lasts for four consecutive weeks, except date five which is three weeks. Transport, accommodation, activities and food are included. Sign up quickly as the programmes are filling up fast!

Working within the Family Solutions Service and wider youth services across the county, NCS Oxfordshire wants to ensure all young people of qualifying age are offered an equal opportunity to sign up to this years’ experience. Haddenham Park Care Home: Stroke UK Meet & Move
Join the Stroke UK Meet & Move monthly support group for stroke survivors and their caregivers. Hosted as part of the Stroke Association support network, each session offers helpful information, resources, and a welcoming community. Stroke survivors can take part in a 45–60 minute exercise class led by a qualified instructor, while caregivers can enjoy coffee and social time in the piano lounge and connect with others. Join this free monthly support group for people living with Parkinson's and their caregivers. Held on the first Monday of every month from 11:00am–12:00pm, the session includes a gentle, physiotherapist-led exercise class for participants with Parkinson's, while caregivers can enjoy coffee, cake and the opportunity to connect with others in a relaxed, supportive environment.
