Meet the Mayor & Deputy Mayor of Thame 2025-26

On Tuesday 13th May 2025, Cllr Andy Gilbert was re-elected as Mayor of Thame alongside Cllr David Dawson who was also re-elected as Deputy Mayor.

Mayor’s Charities

Each year the Mayor of Thame selects charities that they wish to raise money for. Cllr Andy Gilbert, Mayor of Thame, chose Lord Williams’ School (LWS) Young Carers and Sharing Life Trust as his charities for the term of 2024-25.

Altogether £15,000 was raised, with £5,000 being donated to LWS Young Carers, and £10,000 to Sharing Life Trust.

For the term of 2025-26, the Mayor of Thame Cllr Andy Gilbert has chosen Red Kite Family Centre and Thame Youth Projects as his charities.

Mayor’s Cadet

For the term of 2024-25 the Mayor’s Cadet was Luke Smits. He is a member of the 1st Thame Scout Group and has helped the Mayor with a multitude of different events and occasions, but unfortunately cannot continue his role as he wishes to focus on his GCSEs.

Mayor of Thame, Cllr Andy Gilbert, has selected a new cadet for the term of 2025-26. Sophie Coles, an Army Cadet, will be taking on the role of Mayor’s Cadet.

Thame, Oxfordshire, is set to host its inaugural Pride Festival on Saturday, 21st June 2025. This free event aims to celebrate inclusivity and diversity within Thame and its surrounding communities. Thame Pride has partnered with local institutions such as Lord Williams’s School, Thame Library, and Thame Town Council to offer a variety of educational activities.
