On Sunday 27 September, eighty people attended the Mayor’s Civic Service, which was led by Rev. Mike Reading. Guests included the Deputy Lieutenant of Oxfordshire, local mayors from Oxon and Bucks, as well as representatives from SODC and OCC. In addition, a number of residents and volunteers attended, representing various groups in and around Thame. In particular, representatives from the Mayor’s charities, Thame Senior Friendship Centre, including the Memories Café and Thame's Community & Youth Centre, talked about the important services they deliver to the people of Thame across generations.
The LWS Head Girl, Serenna Cheeseman and Head Boy, Guil Gomes read the bible passages whilst Toby Webster played the organ. Mayor’s cadet Finlay Addis took some excellent photos, one of which is shown here. Last, but certainly not least, delicious cakes were provided by Jude Brown and refreshments were served by the ladies of the Thame Inner Wheel.
