After struggling with her mental health over a number of years, Thame based, Laila Hunt wanted to give back to the charities that have helped her.
Laila has set up an online shop where she will be selling reasonably priced mental health and self care products to anyone who may need them.
Laila will be personally donating 20 percent of the purchase amount to a mental health charity called MIND. She has a fundraising page with MIND setup already, but if any buyers wanted the money to go a different charity, she is happy to donate to others.
Laila said: "I have lived in Thame for the majority of my life and consider it to be my home town. I have had some of my best and worst moments in Thame over the years. I want to share my story to help others, raise awareness and raise some money for mental health charities and the amazing work they do to support those suffering with their mental health.
"My mental health journey has been long, hard and at times just plain awful, but it has made me the strong person I am today.
"A few years back I lost a beautiful friend of mine to suicide. We met when we were 16 in an adolescent mental health hospital, we instantly connected and I felt less alone.
"The day I found out I had lost her is still a blur, but I promised myself I would do as much as I could to help others and raise awareness. That is why I have set up my mental health/self care shop, to offer items that I feel will help others based on my personal mental health journey/life experiences."
