Litter picking in Thame

2nd April 2026

Thame has a proud history of litter picking with 'Thame Tidy' events and the creation of Thame Wombles. Although both of these have come to an end the litter picking effort has not! Thame now hosts monthly litter picks organised by Thame Rotary; has several Duke of Edinburgh volunteers who you can often spot out and about; businesses who host their own litter picking events and of course our litter picking resident heroes who regularly take to the street to clear up the litter on a regular basis.

To keep track of where is being litter picked we have the map above. This allows future events to be focused on areas that are not currently being litter picked. However, we are sure that there are details missing. So if you know of areas that are regularly being cleared of litter the please let us know by sharing detail of the areas you litter pick on the day you do it on either

If you are not involved in litter picking, but want to be, then head to the Thame Green Living page above for more information about how to go about it. Then choose one of the white roads on the map above and get out there.

Or if you want to be more social, then why not join in on one of the Thame Rotary Litter Picking activities instead. https://thame-rotary.org/

You are warmly invited to attend Death Cafe in Thame. at 7:30pm in room 1 of the Barns Centre, and held on the third Thursday of each month thereafter A Death Cafe is an informal gathering where people can discuss death over tea and cake. We’re aiming to normalise the topic of death, raise acceptance, and help people make the most of their lives by breaking the taboo around mortality. It is not a grief support group or counselling session. These sessions have no agenda, objectives, or themes, allowing for organic, group-directed conversations about anything related to death, from end-of-life planning to fears and feelings, fostering open sharing in a respectful, confidential space. Death Cafe is run on a not-for-profit basis but if you are able to make…
