Now in its fifth year, all three Thame Primary Schools have been busy making lanterns for this year's Christmas Lantern Parade, as part of the lights switch-on event, on Friday 1 December. The Mayor, Cllr Tom Wyse, has attended all three workshops which have been held after school with parents and grandparents helping out. Tom added "I have had much fun helping the children make their Christmas lanterns ready for the lantern parade when the big switch-on happens on Friday 1 December".
At Barley Hill School's workshop, pupils received an extra pair of hands from three Lord Williams's School students - Maddy, Abi and Jack, who kindly gave up their time to get involved. The workshops and materials are funded by the Town Council, with some of the materials kindly donated by local businesses.

Windles Group have generously produced and donated over 1,500 A3 card lantern templates this year for the community of Thame to decorate! Collect a free lantern template from the Town Hall to decorate yourself, or if your community group, school or church would like some templates - pop into the Town Hall or call us on 01844 212833. Please note that tea lights are not included.
