Members of the Haddenham Rotary Club are inviting the local community to a special fundraising evening in support of the Thames Valley Air Ambulance, a charity many people may one day rely on in an emergency.
The event will take place on Monday 2 March 2026 in Haddenham and will feature a talk by Amanda McLean, Chief Executive Officer of Thames Valley Air Ambulance. Amanda will share insights into the vital, life-saving work carried out by the charity and the challenges involved in delivering emergency critical care across the region.
Amanda McLean joined Thames Valley Air Ambulance in 2016 and has led the organisation’s transition into a world-class independent healthcare provider. She is also a wheelchair user and lives with Multiple Sclerosis, bringing a powerful and personal perspective to her leadership of the charity.
Thames Valley Air Ambulance provides hospital-level emergency care by highly trained doctors and paramedics, delivered both by land and air, whenever and wherever it is needed. The service covers Buckinghamshire, Berkshire and Oxfordshire and relies heavily on public donations to remain operational.
Haddenham Rotary Club has chosen Thames Valley Air Ambulance as its main charity for both this year and last year, reflecting the charity’s importance to the local community. All proceeds from the event will go directly to Thames Valley Air Ambulance.
The Rotary Club hopes the evening will not only raise vital funds, but also increase awareness of the essential work carried out by this remarkable charity — a service that truly could save any one of our lives.
