2nd April 2026
On Tuesday 31 March, at Thame Town Council's meeting the following matters were discussed / agreed.
The Managing Partner at Rycote Practice presented their extension plans to help meet the healthcare needs of the growing town. The proposals have been developed over many years, and will create new clinical, staff and communal areas. The council commended the work of Rycote Practice, and approved to support their request to draw down Section 106 funds, allocated for healthcare in Thame, for this project.
On planning matters, due to imminent amended plans, the council agreed to submit a holding objection to the planning application at the Diagnostic Re-agents site (Chinnor Road) for 28 homes. The council also noted that the application to demolish the CPM building on Aylesbury Road had been withdrawn, but that the application for Lidl was still live.
Reports from SODC, OCC and a range of external organisations were received and noted. The council reviewed and approved its measures for internal control and financial management.
Retaining the current town council ward arrangements (8/8 north/south split) and expanding the parish boundary to include the proposed relocated cattle market site were supported as part of the Community Governance Review consultation.
The following matters were also all approved:
- The Vision for Thame, as part of the town's strategy development.
- Researching into the cost and feasibility of Speed Indicator Devices
- To demolish the changing rooms at Southern Road as part of Project Link (Community & Youth Centre) before 17 July, subject to contract awarding
- A Communications Strategy
