For the England seniors team (over 70's), the Ashes urn is coming back home after a convincing win over Australia in Melbourne on Tuesday.
In the third and decisive one-day international, Australia batted first and tight bowling limited them to 159-9 from 50 overs, with Thame’s own Trevor Spindler (pictured above with the urn) bowling a miserly opening spell of 10-1-30-0. The touring side then knocked off 160-2 in just 41.4 overs, to win by 8 wickets.
With the new cricket season fast approaching, if you live in Thame or the surrounding area and are interested in cricket in any way (playing, watching, scoring, umpiring, bar work, or generally helping out) email [email protected] Everyone is welcome and as Trevor demonstrates, age is no barrier starting with the 'All Stars' from 5 years old upwards!
