Work will start next week to improve the main path through Cuttle Brook Nature Reserve. There will be some temporary disruption and closures while the work takes place.
The work will cover the main route from Southern Road Recreation Ground to Spring Path, and from Spring Path along the east side of the brook to the Phoenix Trail.
The existing top layer of the path is being removed and replaced with recycled road planings, the same type of surfacing originally used for these paths. The approximately 1.2m-wide route will provide a firmer, more durable surface, making it easier for people who are wheeling, walking or using mobility aids to enjoy the Nature Reserve.
The new surface will initially look fresh and noticeably different, but it will weather naturally and begin to blend into its surroundings over time.
