THE police are advising school children, parents and guardians to be extra vigilant to and from school this week after a pupil was approached on her way to school yesterday in Thame.

STRANGER DANGER INCIDENT ON WAY TO SCHOOL
Dear Parents,
This morning one of our Year 6 pupils was approached by a stranger on her way to school. She was walking on her own but within sight of the adult responsible for her at the time. The stranger in question was male, wearing a dark hoody and spoke directly to the child. The police were alerted immediately.
The teachers have spoken to the children about stranger danger in light of the incident and have advised that they do not walk to school alone.
We would like to make sure all of the children are picked up by an adult today. If your child is attending rugby practice after school this afternoon, we would like them to be picked up by an adult on this occasion.
I would strongly recommend that any of our older children who walk to school alone continue to be supervised by adults in the short term or walk in groups.
POLICE
This incident has been reported to the police who have advised the school and parents to show extra vigilance in the supervision of children to and from school and to phone them immediately if you see anyone or anything suspicious on your journeys.
I have also phoned St Joseph’s and Barley Hill Schools to make them aware of this incident.
