This week, Thame’s Tuesday market hosted their annual fun-filled Community Day. The event hosted a range of stalls all celebrating the work being done locally by charities, individuals and voluntary groups.
Three of Thame’s young people were central to the action, helping to raise funds for worthy causes. Sophie (5) decorated cakes and set up her own lucky dip which she was running to raise funds for Sobell House. Crystal (9), donated lots of her own cuddly toys to run a teddy tombola to raise money for Cancer Research; Jamie (16) volunteered to run the giant bouncy slide with a donation of £100 from the proceeds going towards his trip with Outlook Expeditions to support La Esperanza volunteer group who support children's' education in Nicaragua. As well as this, the young-at-heart hosted live music at the Parkinson UK stall; crafts from Safari; tombolas by Slimming World and Thame Twinning; gorgeous knitted goods from Florence Nightingale and Kimble Knit club; and the community launch of Thame’s Green Living Plan Consultation.
