Steam Dreams Rail Co Revives Sunday Luncheon Specials

Back by popular demand, Steam Dreams Rail Co is reviving their Sunday Luncheon Specials on a trip planned to Warwick and Stratford-upon-Avon from London Paddington on Sunday 1 July. Passengers are in for a treat as they experience the magic of steam travel whilst chugging across beautiful English countryside to fabulous destinations, enjoying a delicious Sunday lunch, using the finest seasonal British fare.

On Sunday 1 July the train, hauled by A4 steam locomotive 60009 Union of South Africa, will start out from London Paddington, stopping additionally at Beaconsfield and Princes Risborough to take passengers to Warwick or Stratford-Upon- Avon. Departing at approximately 11:15 passengers can sit back and relax whilst they enjoy this leisurely Sunday lunchtime trip taking in the beautiful English scenery as we climb through the Chilterns before arriving Warwick with its famous Castle and grounds landscaped by Capability Brown.  Alternatively passengers can stay on to Stratford-upon- Avon, the birthplace of Shakespeare, with its stunning architecture, quaint and quirky shops and beautiful river walks. Passengers will re-join the train at 18:20 (18:50 at Warwick) for the return journey which will get into London Paddington at around 21:55.

Marcus Robertson, Founder of Steam Dreams commented: “Sunday lunch and steam travel bring together two great British traditions and provide the perfect recipe for a nostalgic day out. Our Sunday luncheon trains have always proved very popular and are a lovely way to enjoy a day out with the whole family, old and young alike.” Robertson added: “Steam Dreams prides itself on its high quality of dining using the finest seasonal ingredients as part of a modern British menu with a nod to the glory days of the British Pullman cars.”

Steam Dreams offer passengers four classes of travel; Pullman Style Dining with elegant 1950’s or 1960’s carriages, wood panelled walls, table lamps and curtains combined with our comfortable seats and the highest level of service. Premier Dining customers are served in comfortable 1960’s Restaurant Cars with wood panelling and large picture windows. Passengers opting for Pullman or Premier Style Dining will be served full lunch on the outward journey and a light dinner on the return. For those preferring the flexibility of buying from our on-board range of snacks and drinks or bringing your own picnic there is First Class or Premium Standard.

Fares for this fabulous trip start from £109pp. For further information and prices for remaining tickets for trips, contact the Steam Dreams Booking Office on 01483 209888 or visit www.SteamDreams.co.uk.

Death Cafe @ Thame Barns Centre
You are warmly invited to attend Death Cafe in Thame. at 7:30pm in room 1 of the Barns Centre, and held on the third Thursday of each month thereafter A Death Cafe is an informal gathering where people can discuss death over tea and cake. We’re aiming to normalise the topic of death, raise acceptance, and help people make the most of their lives by breaking the taboo around mortality. It is not a grief support group or counselling session. These sessions have no agenda, objectives, or themes, allowing for organic, group-directed conversations about anything related to death, from end-of-life planning to fears and feelings, fostering open sharing in a respectful, confidential space. Death Cafe is run on a not-for-profit basis but if you are able to make…
