Thame Town Council's website underwent improvement works last week which included increasing functionality and content on the site.
The Town Council's newly improved website includes a page with information on how to report common problems you may encounter, such as a missed bin, potholes and broken streetlights. The Town Council are very aware of the poor condition of some of Thame's roads, which have got worse this winter, with repeated ice and thaws. Unfortunately as a Parish Council they are unable to do anything to fix the roads, as it is the responsibility of Oxfordshire County Council (OCC). However OCC has just received an extra £1m from the government for road repairs. This money will be spent on proper road patching this year, which lasts longer and is better value for money.
The Town Council want to make sure that Thame sees its fair share of this funding. The best way to do this is to let OCC know where the problems are, which can be done via their online system 'Fix My Street', which helps save time and money. You can also use Fix My Street to track updates on problems which have been reported. Thame Town Council reports to OCC through this same system – and as soon as we discover an issue, or anyone lets us know about one, we report it. However it would be great to have more members of the public reporting to OCC directly.
