With the recent hot weather, using a disposable BBQ in the park may seem like a harmless idea, however it can have dangerous consequences. Thame Town Council have recently seen a rise in reports of disposable BBQs being used in our local play areas and open spaces, and are asking people please do NOT use these in our public spaces or put used BBQs in public bins. Not only do these BBQs damage land by leaving burn scars and killing plants, but they more importantly pose as a severe fire risk, particularly on the dry ground we have at the moment. In the event of a fire, please call 999 immediately. Antisocial behaviour should be reported to 101, whilst burn damage to play areas, open spaces or public bins should be reported to the Town Council.
