On Monday 29th June at 2pm players from the newly formed Thame Red Kites Walking Football Club entertained the residents of Cuttlebrook Hall with a 2-hour penalty shoot-out. Whilst professional players from The Netherlands and Germany missed penalties in their knockout world cup matches, we witnessed a lady resident of 103 convert a spot kick! It delighted her fellow football-loving residents, and even some of Care UK’s staff who then joined in and celebrated goals as if they had won the World Cup itself. It was simply great fun and a great example of the club’s intent to be a genuine community club in Thame.
