On Monday 6 July, works will begin to demolish the changing rooms at Southern Road Recreation Ground. These works are expected to take up to two weeks as part of the approved plans for the new Community & Youth Centre.
In preparation for the demolition, the building’s contents have been removed, and all utilities have been, or will be, disconnected before demolition begins.
On Friday 3 July, the seven car parking spaces closest to the changing rooms will be closed off to prepare for the works to start on 6 July. During the demolition period, fencing will also be put in place for the safety of the workers and users of the recreation ground. The felling of the Lime Tree will not be taking place at this time.
