Community Support Group for People with Aphasia Announces 2026 Meeting Dates in Thame

21st April 2026

A welcoming support group for people living with communication difficulties following stroke or brain injury has announced its 2026 meeting schedule in Thame.

Run by Say Aphasia Thame, the group offers a relaxed and inclusive environment for individuals affected by aphasia—a condition that can impact speech, understanding, reading, and writing. Organisers say the sessions are designed to combat the isolation many people feel after diagnosis, providing a space where attendees can connect with others who share similar experiences.

The group is open to anyone, and no medical referral is required. Attendees are encouraged to drop in for informal conversation, peer support, and refreshments.

Meetings will take place at Cuttlebrook Hall, 1 Stock Road (Eastern Bypass), Thame, OX9 3FU, on the second and fourth Tuesday of each month from 2:00pm to 3:30pm.

2026 Meeting Dates:

  • March: 10th & 24th
  • April: 14th & 28th
  • May: 12th & 26th
  • June: 9th & 23rd
  • July: 14th & 28th
  • August: 11th & 25th

Organisers emphasise that the group is as much about social connection as it is about support, offering a friendly setting for people to rebuild confidence and communication skills at their own pace.

For more information, those interested can email [email protected] or visit www.sayaphasia.org. Alternatively, enquiries can be made directly with the venue.

You are warmly invited to attend Death Cafe in Thame. at 7:30pm in room 1 of the Barns Centre, and held on the third Thursday of each month thereafter A Death Cafe is an informal gathering where people can discuss death over tea and cake. We’re aiming to normalise the topic of death, raise acceptance, and help people make the most of their lives by breaking the taboo around mortality. It is not a grief support group or counselling session. These sessions have no agenda, objectives, or themes, allowing for organic, group-directed conversations about anything related to death, from end-of-life planning to fears and feelings, fostering open sharing in a respectful, confidential space. Death Cafe is run on a not-for-profit basis but if you are able to make…
