The Liberal Democrats have today announced their candidates for the upcoming local elections, with Kate Gregory and Judith Edwards selected to represent Thame.
The current County Council division is a 2-member division, with two county councillors representing Thame, Chinnor, and nearby areas. However, from May 1, 2025, the boundaries will change, splitting the division into three separate ones. In Thame, this means that residents living west of the Cuttlebrook, including Moreton, will join the new Chalgrove and Thame West division, while the remainder of Thame will form its own division.
Kate Gregory will be standing in the newly formed Thame division, while Judith Edwards will stand in the Chalgrove and Thame West division.
Kate Gregory lives in Thame with her husband and two children. As a County and District Councillor, she has worked tirelessly on local issues, and has campaigned for years for the Thame to Haddenham Greenway, which has recently made significant progress. As the Cabinet Member for SEND Improvement, she is dedicated to enhancing support for children with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities. She is also a strong supporter of the Red Kite Family Centre, recognising the invaluable work they do for local families.
Judith Edwards, who lives in Thame with her husband and two children, has long been an active and passionate advocate for local causes. She currently serves as Vice-Chair of her residents' committee and recently led a successful campaign to prevent a waste facility from being built near residential areas. Judith brings over 20 years of experience working in the charity sector and has also worked in Parliament and local government, specialising in securing funding for causes such as advice services and tackling fuel poverty.
Both candidates are committed to listening to their communities, working hard on local issues, and ensuring that the voices of Thame are heard in County Hall.
Local elections will be held on 1 May 2025. You will need to be registered to vote and remember that photo ID will be required at the polling station.
